You may have noticed it is became rather cloudy all of a sudden yesterday – well, those aren’t clouds – it’s smoke from the forest fires in the interior, and it is expected to stick around for another day or two and a wildfire smoke advisory has been issued for the East Coast of Vancouver Island which includes the Comox Valley.

The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the Vancouver Island Health Authority is continuing a Smoke Advisory for the east coast of Vancouver Island from Cowichan Valley to Campbell River, including the Comox Valley.

It is expected that this situation will continue for at least the next 24 hours.  People with heart or lung conditions should reduce their levels of activity while air quality is poor.
