Members of the Oyster River Volunteer Fire Rescue Association are welcoming the public to an open house at the fire hall at 2241 Catherwood Road on Saturday October 6 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Throughout the day the event will feature:
- Tours of the department’s newly developed training structure
- Fire safety and awareness training for young and old in Comox Valley Fire Chiefs’ Association fire safety house
- Fire extinguisher demonstrations with hands-on opportunities
- Emergency preparedness information with the manager of the Comox Valley emergency program
- Fire safety door prizes
- Equipment on display
- Tours of the fire hall
There will be a BBQ lunch with proceeds going to completing the interior of the training building.
At 1:00 pm the members will demonstrate their auto extrication tools and skills with a “patient extrication� demonstration.
