Near record temperatures were present last week as the summers first heat wave swept the Valley.

The old July 11 record is a scorching 34.4 and last week we fell just short with temperatures reaching a toasty 34.1. According to the Comox Valley Record the hottest temperature on recorded record for the Valley is 34.8 set just last summer on July 6.

Comox Valley Guide has a weather page dedicated to Comox Valley Weather, however the statistics, provided by Environment Canada only include temperatures up to 2000.

According to the Weather Network, temperatures this week should fall around the high teens, low 20’s with the heat returning after next weekend and approaching the low 30’s again.

Seems like only a short time ago we were complaining about the cold…
