A Comox Valley landmark, the Palace Theatre underwent some serious damage Wednesday after a blaze swept through the building.

After a four hour fight the fire had been extinguished, but the damage was severe. No word yet if the 1940′s building can or will be recovered.

The fire broke out just after 11 am when roofers were torching during roof repairs as part of the recent renovations.
